The web is full of marketing information and advice. Some of these websites, blogs, and wikis are useful and some are completely useless. Below is a list of top 10 marketing websites that I find the useful for gathering marketing techniques, tips, tricks, news and statistics.

1. MarketingSherpa.com

Marketing info and research website

MarketingSherpa is a research firm specializing in tracking what works and doesn't in marketing. Their objective is to provide marketers the stats and instructions necessary to improve their results. This is one of the most useful publications I know.

Online Marketing Magazine

This marketing website specializes in strategic and tactical marketing know-how. It has over 313,000 members and 300 contributors. Although there are free articles, not everything is free. This resource provides members with practical marketing tools and information through articles, online seminars, case studies, workshops, templates, benchmark survey reports, buyer's guides and thought-leader panel discussions. Updated weekly.

3. WhamWiki.com

Marketing information gathered into lists.

It is the only marketing wiki that I could find. It's a great way to condense large quantities of information into manageable lists. This is a great tool to organize and store your marketing knowledge. The best part is that once you post information on Wham!, the rest of the community can help improve it. No filler. The goal is to collaboratively create the ultimate collection of how-to lists for marketers. Just the juicy bits.

They cover all aspects of online marketing and offer in-depth analysis, commentary, best practices, real-life experiences, and general insights from digital and social media marketers. One Degree's contributors are some of Canada's best, most insightful and innovative internet marketers.

This is one of the few websites that I found worth paying for. Monthly it publishes fresh Search Engine Optimization news based on research that they conduct. Very useful stuff.

Unlike the other websites in this list, this is actually a blog. On a daily basis, Seth offers valuable advice about everything marketing. He doesn't bore you with irrelavent detail...just brilliant insight. (He's also the founder of Squidoo)

Examples of great advertising website

If you need some inspiration for producing a great print ad, this is your website. It's full of creative and powerful ads from all over the world (hence the URL). It also has a really great blog.
